Our journey began when we were just 14 years old, meeting through mutual friends while serving in our local fire departments. Though life led us in different directions, we stayed friends over the years. Eventually, our paths crossed again, and we became a couple. Now, twelve years of marriage, two beautiful children, and countless adventures later, our lives are as busy and exciting as ever.

We both work full-time in our “real” jobs, but we also dedicate a lot of time to our farm–raising cattle and collecting animals (much to Scott’s amusement). We volunteer at our local fire department and rescue squad, enjoy camping, spending time with our two awesome kids and love hosting parties and dinners for our family and friends.

Recently, we embarked on a new adventure–one that has been a long-time dream of mine, though not necessarily Scott’s (haha). It all started one weekend around a campfire when I noticed a horse trailer being used for a private event. With my background in bartending and the food industry, and my passion for all things farm-related, I had an idea. In that moment, a spark went off, and I knew this was the opportunity to turn my dream into a reality.

With a little persuasion and some encouragement from a close friend, who promised to help with the renovation, we began searching for a horse trailer to transform into something uniquely ours. To our surprise, we found one just fifteen miles from home. We fell in love with it, and the renovation process began. And so, Copper Reins was born.

The Renovation

With a vision, good friends, a little time and a whole lot of patience, this beauty was transformed.

Meet The Dream Team

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible people who helped bring it to life.

First, a huge thank you to Mike, a dear friend (and the one who optimistically promised around a campfire that this renovation would be a breeze). Mike devoted countless hours—especially on the hottest days of summer—bringing his impressive carpentry skills and unwavering dedication to the table. We can’t thank you enough for helping turn this dream into a reality.

And to my husband, Scott—the reluctant yet supportive partner who agreed to go along with this “genius” idea. Despite the challenges of renovating a horse trailer under the blazing summer sun, Scott brought every wild idea I had to life. His hard work, patience, and ingenuity made this dream truly possible.

Thank you both for making this vision a reality—I couldn’t have done it without you!

We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing family and friends. To our parents, siblings, extended family, and dear friends—thank you for supporting us from day one.

From helping with electrical work and welding to loaning equipment, assisting with photo sessions, and even working events alongside us, your generosity and encouragement have meant the world to us. We truly couldn’t have started off without a hitch, and for that, we are forever grateful.

Thank you for being an integral part of this journey—we couldn’t have done it without you!
